 We've found a nice double-wide manufactured home just a couple miles from where we are, on it's own land and sits on a concrete block foundation. It has everything we need (except a dishwasher, but we can get a portable model; there's enough room to keep it out of the way in the kitchen when not in use). We've made an offer and need to wait for it to be inspected and approved by the VA loan people. It has a fair size kitchen and laundry area complete with appliances. The living room is spacious and there are 3 bedrooms, one being a master bedroom with attached master bath. There is also a central bathroom. It has a covered front porch with a place to put a ramp next to the 4 or so steps. It also has a carport with an entrance on the side. The design of most manufactured homes is to have the main entrance on the long side of the structure, in this case the lot is a more standard 50x100' lot with the narrow end facing the street, so the living room entrance faces the carport, and the Kitchen entrance faces the street. It's a little strange to enter a house through the kitchen, but it's ok. It also has a patio in the back and a storage shed. Not much in the way of landscaping, and the lot is covered with gravel (probably a deep layer) so Jeff is planning raised garden beds.
